Thread: ECU questions...

Ok so I am going thursday to pickup my sr20ve from dallas and I am going to need some sort of tuning. I was at the junkyard the other day and found several b13's and b14's and one s13. So I cant really find daughterboards for the b14 ECU, if someone has one or knows where I can get one that would be awesome! Anyways I picked up a JA18B72 B01 5403 OBD2 ECU out of a 97ish sentra auto. If I can find a daughterboard for it can I use it, even though it came out of a none se-r and an auto? If I cant use it I am going to cut the factory ecu connector out of it to make an adapter harness out of. So I cut out an ecu connector from a 92ish B13 auto ga16de car, will I have any problems using that connector? And lastly I read somewhere that the b13 half size ecu's would not work to chip so the only full size ECU I could find was an A11-C03 G61 2417 out of a 93ish S13 auto vert, Can I daughterboard it and use it in my B14 with the adapter harness? Any help on this would be awesome guys! Thanks so much!

here is some pics of the 2 ecu's i got... and a pic of the b13 ecu plug for making a conversion harness if I go that route... What are the 3 extra plugs on the b13 harness? I know one goes to a relay but do i need it? thanks!

At this point I would suggest wiring it for a B13 ECU, UNLESS you have to pass inspection or emissions with an OBD2 ECU.

With the B13 ECU it will allow you a lot more options for tuning and I could supply you with a chipped B13 ECU with a map already on it for the VE.
