AFR guru's please chime in
i installed a lc1 wide band a while back. im having a issue with AFR. i have a b13 calum basic with a tune from calum. im not sure if his mapping is way off or what. ive been babying the car and havent really got into it. havent hit VVL. so the other day i was trying to get into a lane and some ass hole hit the gas for me not to get in from of him to i punched it. once it hit VVL it cut up for a quick second ( maybe cause i havent hit VVL in a while) they took off. i looked at the AFR and noticed at WOT i was at 9.00. way too lean. cruising on the street it stays around 12-14.7.

could it be a got a crappy fuel mapping from calum? i have tried bumping up the fuel trim with the neo but set the values at 25% more bit doesnt seem like the AFR changed. it left better at the fat end of the power band but still think theres a AFR issue. there no vacumm leaks. filter is clean but if it was dirty would cause a rich condition. havent really looked into it but wanted some insight on where to start.

thanks in advance

You have it backwards!

9.0 is WAAYYYY RICH, not lean.

If you are trying to make any adjustments via a afc neo, you should be subtracting percentage, not adding it!

I would suggest having your car properly tuned by someone that tunes cars in your area.

The car will run much better as an end result!

hmmmm kinda confused here, cause 9.00 is Rich, Not lean.. 14.7 is good for cruising tho so as long as your in that range i dont see a problem, however 9.00 is rich as shit so you might wanna look into that.. i can send you a bin to test out if you tell me what your setup is..

edit oh i see you have a calum basic.. so you prolly dont know anyone that burns chips.. offer still stands, lmk

The neo is set at 0 right now didn't want to leave it at 25 when I was messing with it ... 25% is way too much I feel and with common sense I knew thats not good to go that high. Even set at 0 hr afr is 9.8 and goes to about 10.2 at high rpm. I'm don't know much about tuning so I put a post up.

Have no clue what I was thinking when I stated 9.0 is lean ... Total brain fart lol

can you set the neo to go -25% or something? you wanna aim for 13.0 give or take a few tenths here an there

do you have someone who can burn chips?

what is your setup?

I don't know anyone that could burn a chip. I'm trying not to put the stock sr16 ecu back in cause it's horrible ... Car is sloe as hell. Runs better with it. I have idle issues sometimes with calum ecu since I got it. That's y I'm leaning towards it being a bad fuel map set up.

My set up is in my sig. Cam gears r set to 0/0 for now. Also running obd1 set up eith jdm harness using a b13 ecu.

Were you able to check the AFRs that you had with the stock SR16 ECU?

Thats weird, becuse with high 9s to low 10s AFR at WOT your car should kinda slow, use gas as crazy and backfire like hell... So in theory it should feel better up top with the SR16 ECU, specially since it lets you rev to like 8200 or so am I right?...

Use the AFC to lean a bit the AFRs, if -25 is what it takes then do it, at least give it a try to see what the butt dyno says...

To be honest with u top end on the stock sr16 ecu had nice top end ... I forgot what it was but my mph at the end of the 1/4 mile was nice ... Was like 98 mph or something like that ... Im sure I got the slip in the glove box if it's not faded by now ... I'm going to set the afc to -25 and see what that does and go from there.

I think ur right that it revs to 9k ... The calum ecu I have revs to 8500 and to be honest with u th higher thr revs the better it feels
