Nissan data scan connection issues
I have been having this problem with connecting to nissan data scan. Whats happening is that when ever I connect to the ecu, when I go for a data log run the ecu disconnects from the ecu, it causes a error or the program freezes. Now when I have the engine off and turn the key forward there seems to be no problems. I read that it could be electrical noise traveling up the consult cable. any ideas?

could be lots of stuff from the actual cable, loss of power at the connector the laptop could be at fault too, try the laptop and cable in another car and try to narrow down the problem from there.

The cable is good it's the blatz version, which is pretty good. The cable is functional because it operates fine with the key in the on position engine not started. I also read that regrounding the ecu might also help this. Has anyone done that before?

This ended up being a bad ground at the battery terminals.
