Yeh its just a basic board.

the best 'basic' board that i know of is the PLMS Development board which you can run up to 4 different maps on and switch them on-the-fly while driving/running. Costs a bit more but handy sometimes.

I'm running the Moates board, it works just like the Calum daughterboard. It installs the same way too.

Calum's basic boards have ZIF sockets, where the Moates boards use regular plug-in sockets. However the Moates board allows the use of two Moates Ostriches for real-time tuning. The Moates Ostrich connectors will not plug into the ZIF sockets on the Calum board. So, if you think you might upgrade to real-time tuning, get the Moates, if not, the ZIF sockets on the Calum board make chip changes easier.

On the moates board do you connect that little red jumper or leave it off.

The red jumper allows you to toggle between two maps when using a 512 chip.

Generally you would leave it off, unless you are using this feature.

Here is the documentation for the Moates board.
