LogWorks startup problem
Hi guys, Im having a problem with logworks3. Its installed in a toshiba netbook. The problem is that when I open logworks, instead of the small window which lets you choose which port you want to log data from, a small window appears which says: Error, no serial port available, and thats it, it wont let me choose any other port...

any suggestions to what is wrong?
thanks for the help

Does the Toshiba netbook have a serial port? Being a netbook, I would bet my life that it doesn't.

There's your problem right there.

yeah it doesnt...

I have a serial to USB adapter since the netbook doesnt have a serial port but the program just birngs up the error and doesnt let me choose a port... its supposed that the adapter tricks the computer to think that the USB port is a serial right, thats the way it works or am I confused?

You need to get a Serial to USB adapter that actually installs it self as a "serial" device, and that you can assign it a COM port, etc.

The folks at Innovate are pretty helpful. If you can't figure this out, give them a call or ask on one of their forums how to fix your issue.
