I'm kinda slow with the pics and vids usually. But they do come eventually. Really not much to take pics of right now. Videos will come soon as the thing gets tuned.

btw what are your part numbers for the transistors?
are they MOSFET?
did you put them inside, near the EMS... OR ....near engine, close to COP.

thanks man

Not sure on the part number for the transistors. I'm sure someone could figure that out easily though.

I honestly don't know if they are MOSFET or IGBT, or what. Sorry.
Now that I read more about each, it's probably a MOSFET but I'm not 100% sure.

Edit: Dan says they are NPN transistors. Makes sense.

I put them inside the cabin near the EMS just because that was going to be easier for me. In reality they could go in the engine bay near the COP (they are designed to live in the engine bay anyway) which would make the wire runs shorter. I just took the easy way out and put them in the cabin because I already had all the wires running in there anyway.

where did you get them at then?

and that got rid of the stock coil and ignitor?

and all that rendered the distributor useless?
or is it still used for the CPS (camshaft position sensor)?

Yes. I was able to ditch the stock coil, although I used the stock ignitor (along with 3 more) to run the 4 new coils. =]

Yes. That and the combination of a stand-alone engine management system (or I guess an S chassis ECU or 20V ECU might work too maybe with some re-wiring).

And yes again. I still need to keep the distributor there because it incorporates the CAS (cam angle sensor). However, you could replace that with the unit from a 20V which is a CAS only and no distributor. The 20V ran COP.

^^ Yeah and the SR20VE 20V one is like 200-300 bux I wonder if there is a Nissan or Infiniti car at the junkyard that CAS will work for my conversion? WHat about even a RWD SR20DET??

You don't have to get the 20V CAS. That's just for looks. You can use any stock FWD distributor and leave it as is. (I've tried the RWD stuff and it won't work.)

If you want to go the extra mile it would be a lot cheaper to take a stock distributor cap and cut off the posts on it and maybe bondo/JB weld the holes and sand/paint it to make it look good.

and remove the button inside 2, if you want...

If you're talking about the ignition rotor, then yes you can remove that too. If you're talking about the high voltage post on the distributors with internal coils, you could chop that up too but I wouldn't ruin a good distributor like that.
