I need help from someone with AEM EMS on their SR20. *Fixed*
I know there's a handful of you guys out there. I'm not exactly sure what I need, but if someone could take a data log of their car cranking and starting while cold, and another while it is cranking and starting while warm I would much appreciate it.

Make sure when you log that you are logging rpm, injector PW, ignition timing and idle position. Those are what I'm interested in most. Let me know what size injectors you have too.

Basically I'm trying to get my car tuned, and it will start up like a champ every time when it is cold, but it won't even think about firing while it's warm. I'm trying to diagnose this problem, and some logs might help me.

Also if someone just wants to send me their calibration that works for them that might work too. I have a few here to work from though, so that's not as important.

PM me for my e-mail address. Coach? GT2871RBLUBIRD? Schrilo? I appreciate any help I can get!

Messed with it at lunch. Starts up just fine anywhere from 70°F to 150°F.
At 158°F it won't even think about firing. It's so odd.

It just occurred to me that I might not have changed the coil dwell time from stock S13 settings (probably something crazy like 13ms) to what the Denso coils like (2ms). They might be over heating and refusing to fire.

That's the first thing I'm checking when I get home.

on my b13 i was able to use the stock ignition information from the cal file. no start issues cold or warm. the car has stock coil and dist tho.

Thank you very much. That's good to know. What injectors were you using? And you mean the base calibration for a SR20DE, or for the DET?

do you have the part number for the coils and the wiring diagram?

The coils are Denso pencil units (the short ones, not the long ones) that AEM re-brands and sells. Denso also supplies them to Honda for their motorcycles, and that's what I have. 2008 Honda CBR600 coils. I don't have a part number, sorry.

As for the wiring diagram? Not sure what you mean. I have AEM switching four power transistors which in turn, drive the coils. Is that good enough?

I feel bad you went through all that trouble. You're close. Here's what it really looks like.
The grounds are in fact, all grounded at the same place.

Better looking schematic I whipped up that would be easier to embed in forum posts.
