You will need a Blatz cable and Nissan Data Scan blaZt - Nissan Datascan version 1.52 software for reading engine sensors and trouble codes.

Now after all that, Calum Real Time ecu doesn't seem so expensive...

Basic: $100
Consult Cable and NDS - $136
Moats Chip Burner - $80
Chips - Not sure how much but fairly cheap
Tuning - Painful and can't test results right of way

Total = $316

Real Time ECU - $370
NDS - $40
Tuning - A breeze, update a tune while driving!
Data Logging - Easy does it, can be free if you live with ECU Talk

Total = $410

For $100 more you save time and headaches

I don't understand why I need the Blatz cable (OBD connector to USB) if the ECU has the Serial cable coming out of the back? What do I do with that then? Same thing different location?

Since I have the Serial cable coming out of the ECU, can I not just buy a Serial to USB cable off Newegg for like $20?

I've never dealt with Basic's so dunno how they work and what is included. If you have a serial cable coming out the back you might be lucky and not need a cable.

In that case pick up a cheap Serial to USB cable and try it out, maybe someone with more insight on Basic's can chime in?

you wont need that blatz cable or whatever, from my understanding the cable coming out of the ecu is all you need to connect to the computer

Yes, the cable on the basic is a consult cable.

BUt is that bin even programmed for the GTi-R MAF? I understand there is a bit difference between that and the SR20MAF, even U13...

I've had it running for about a week now, and all is going great! It is tuned for the GTI-R MAF, and all that jazz. Runs very strong! Thanks

Not all Basics had the cable - it was an option that Calum offered.
