Tuning Question
I put up a request for a bin in the Calum section and haven't had any hits yet. Here is my main concern with my current BIN on my ECU - it's tuned for a 8.5:1CR and I am at a stock 9.5:1CR. I don't know much about how this would work out, but what would happen if I didn't have that retuned? That's about the only thing that needs changed on my tune.

Moved to the right section.

Do NOT run that tune. 8.5:1 engines will run more timing then 9.5:1, because they are lower compression. If you run an 8.5:1 tune, you will most likely run into detonation.

Now all you really have to do is, take your 8.5:1 tune and find a 9.5:1 Turbo tune, and switch out the timing map and fuel map.

I would love to be able to do that, but I do not have a burner. I just got the Calum Basic, and thats what was already on it. I knew it would have different timing...

Vadim, can you burn something like that for me?

Edit: Another question. On my Calum Basic-equipped ECU, there is a cable coming out of the back. I know you can't tune real-time with it, but what is it used for? Just simple data logging? If so, what software should I look into getting for it?

That is most likely the calumsalt cable. You can run that to a laptop running calumsalt and monitor things kinda like the e-manage interface has i believe. Most likely has a data log function.

Correct me if im wrong of course.

^^^Yeah, you can use the cable for Nissan data scan or calumsult on a laptop.

Like Vad said, probably not a good idea to run a low comp program on a high(er) comp motor. What setup do you have? B13 or B14?

I've got a B13 - '93 NX, but the ECU the daughterboard is in is a Bluebird U13 ECU. The motor is just a stock USDM, and I have everything needed to assemble the car essentially except for this correct tune.

I will be installing a GTi-R T28 running 7psi, GTi-R MAF (is it much different even?), 370's, 3" exhaust, skinny O2, and this ECU. You guys have anything useful? The ECU is tuned essentially for what I need, but I just need a different CR setting. Any help will be appreciated.

Will any USB to serial cable work?

Sorry bro, I have a Real Time ECU, so can't burn you any chips.

Plus the tune that I would burn would be far different then what you have on there. I don't believe I came across U13 fuel/Timing tunes.

Keep in mind, since you are using a JDM ecu, you are stuck with searching for JDM sensors when one fails
