Thread: 94 B13 JWT ECU on 91 B13?

I thought I read somewhere that the 94 SE-R MT ECU will not work on 91-93? is that true? I may purchase one here from a guy who has a JWT DE ECU programmed for SR20VE, VE injectors, cobra MAF, but it says 94 SE-R MT on the ECU.

yeah I had this problem. My 94 ecu would not work in my 92 se-r but my 91-93 ecu worked. the car would not start but I could see the ecu in datascan. This was with a calum ecu not a jwt. I know calum has since resolved this issue.

A 94 SER ECU will work on a 91-93 SER.

I have done it many a time. If you do this the ECU will throw a check engine light. This happens because the 94 SER ECU has a EGT sensor. You can install a EGT sensor on the older motors.

91-94 SER ECU California all have the EGT setup.

if you look at a 91-93 Federal ECU harness car you will see the open plug sitting right next to the FPR it is generally strapped up to the drivers side of the injs harness

it will work, i have a 94 ecu in my 93 se-r.. and it is as Mr. Miko says it will throw a c.e.l without unrapping the plug and plugging the sensor up.
