At cold startup, the ECU activates the IACV-AAC and Air Regulator bypass to produce a higher idle. Im not certain, but I think this process is controlled by engine operating temperature.

Thanks for replying. Just curious if its possible to make a car idle in "warm mode" at startup when its still cold. Basically, if you can reprogram the ECU cold idle program and how to make it like the warm idle program.
I am wondering b/c my car doesn't idle when cold, only after its warmed up.
I'm 90% sure it won't idle well cold if you could do that anyways man. 2 reasons for this assumption:
1) Cold start idle is there for a reason, to help the engine run well when the cylinders are very cold. I forgot the specifics about that but it made sense lol.
2) I have a fully manual controlled idle since I do not use the IACV (it's a hand valve now) and my car idles like crap for a few minutes till the engine is warm, and then it's just fine (this is the equivalent of what you want to do but cheating).
Yea, I am curious as to why you wouldn't want to the car to warm up first? It will take longer to reach operating temps if the idle is not raised when cold, IIRC. Anyone can chime in.

I think I have an idea to why he might want to do this.
When car is warming up, it is throwing a lot of fuel to warm up the engine and CAT. If you don't have a CAT you don't need/want that extra fuel to be thrown to warm up a CAT that is not there.
I will want to do a similar thing when I get my Real Time...
What you are asking to do doesn't make any sense, but there are 2 values to change and you can do it. "Cold start turn on temp" and "Cold start turn off temp"... Just move them down cold where you will never turn it on or off. Values are in Celsius.

Thank you. I'll have to get Calumsult and try this out.
