Got knee deep into some fab work I have been putting off for some time, taking into consideration of location of components.
Customer's KA24DET project, built motor, all the bells and whistles. PTE6266, trying out a new clamp system from racepartsolutions. Customer wanted wiggins, budget was not there, looked into vibrant vanjens, found flaws in design, looked at Accufab clamps, didnt have the ability to flex enough same for HDI clamps. Darin @ racepartsolutions sent me specs on design and we chose his clamp system as we are aiming to hurt some egos with this setup. From the pictures of the plenum being used, this is going to produce serious boost. There are other pictures of the system I cannot show yet, but its not visible from uptop anyway.

Miller sycrowave 250DX pulse AC mode 30-60, 70-100 + preheat 180* 18 cfh Ar 1/16" 2% zirconiated tungsten -75% balance, prep of metal as usual.

Started out raw 3.5" CXRacing piping, 14ga. F-u Vibrant for having 16ga on backorder.
Never In Stock Must Order.

Built a 3.5" intake using AHP welder, truly an abusive 200A max it out, I hope I burn the machine out test. Used 3/32" lanth. tungsten in pulse mode 90-200A. For those who do AC work, you know this is a no-no is setting up a pulse feature. Ar @ 20cfh, 3/32" 4043 rod, yes I cheated to control heat.

Barely cleared shifter mechanism.

Car had a I***n intake system which required a cut in plastic fender well cover, which starts out 3" @ TB, chokes down to 2.75"-ish for MAF, and opens backup to 3" for filter. Figured a MAP conversion with IAT using full 3.5" piping. Gains ? plenty of usable power, better fit than off the shelf product.

To make sure it all works out and stays in place .

Whats the black wrapping ? Don't worry it works real well, better than most other shielding products that are advertised in most automotive mags.

Learn it because you want to learn it, saving money was the last thing in my mind. I learned it because I wanted to build something, not buy something. There are times after building something I could've easily have bought something for alot less than what I actually spent on materials/consumables/gas/rods/electricity. Its that gratifying/ satisfied feeling after getting a project done that makes it all worth it. Save on being charged by someone else. Get creative and it all piles up very quickly.

My daily inspiration is a simple project, but everytime I look at this I push to become better.
