Clamp-on balljoint press for P10/P11 (easy on-vehicle LCA removal)
Or, perhaps vise is a better description?

Made a tool that pops the lower balljoint out in 5 minutes, on the car, without doing anything other than removing the wheel and cutting off the balljoint boot.

one end (not pictured) is keyed to rotate in and under the hub assembly

Took about 5 minutes to pop the balljoint out of the hub assembly. So easy!

That is.... Pure genious! I bet that would work with a B13 as well :P No more banging on a ball joint!

Thanks! I banged on it a few times, hit it with a torch and thought there must be a better way. Show-nuf. Walked around a hardware store and built it in my head looking at a picture of the balljoint on my iPhone.

Of course, with basic off-the-shelf bar steel and grade 8 bolts, it looks like this afterwards.

A couple hammer swings later and it flattens back out. Worked for 2 so far.

I'm thinking I could make a few, or maybe have someone else make them.

I can flatten it out back out and have you give it try. It looks like it would go a few more rounds. Otherwise I could fab up a new one.

I use one of these type of things. about 25 bucks from the local auto parts stores here (price on the website is pretty expensive so ignore that)

Ball joint splitter tool (scissor type)

That's slick. None of the auto parts stores around here had anything.

God bless being in canada for once - princess auto has these on sale for $20 all the time - used mine numerous times for other stuff like tie rods too - much easier and safer than damn wreck-your-boot pickle forks
