next time just use nylon headed nuts. problem solved fast all for a buck and change.

Rich, as carefully as you have modified your vehicles, I am surprised you are advocating a half-assed "good enough" bull-shit non-solution to a very real issue.

1) Would any automobile manufacturer come out with a top-hat that had only half the threads engaging from the factory?

2) Would you be happy if you bought expensive aftermarket mounts (Tein, Cusco, GC, whomever....) and the supplied studs were so short that only half the threads engaged?

3) Would a professional Racing Team (Formula One, NASCAR, Top Fuel, whatever....) deem it OK that half the threads engaged on any parts being bolted-together on their vehicle?

If in those three (3) scenarios the engineers (or Crew Chief) would make damn sure the bolts or studs were long enough, then why is it acceptable to have studs/bolts too short to engage all the threads when we are modifying our vehicles?

It is that simple.
