Mason-Dixon is about 1 hour from summit point for the drag racing event.

Let's do this, all we need now is a hotel and a park for the car show!

Just to clarify things: Are we pre planning for next year or do we want to do this in the fall? Because I really hate that I missed the convention but it was just bad timing for my job...

And what a fun track day that was! However, Robling > Jefferson.

I would like to race at the Summit Point Circuit. Looks like a very fun course and from some people I spoke to that did race at SUmmit Point, it is a lot of fun.

The thing about FATT days are they require an instructor to ride with you until they sign off on you to go solo. They usually don't give sign offs the first event you do. Guys with comp licenses get a pass. The issue with this is there's only so many instructors to go around. Years ago when I did these, they only had so many slots available. They usually filled up months in advance.

With all that said, if we could figure out a solution to run there, I'd be all for it. Summit is were I started doing track days. Much like Nelson's, the main track (Summit Circuit) has a down home feel to it. I have many fond memories running there. Jefferson is okay. It's small, but it might allow us a full track rental to ourselves. Shenandoah is really technical. It also is the track that would be hardest on the cars.

Their view, from a safety standpoint, is quite a bit tighter than Nelson's. They've had people die at these events, so they try and minimize the risk. I think we're going to find that's the case with a lot, if not all, tracks we look at. It's just something we're going have to deal with.

I'm afraid the tracks this year have set an expectation that isn't reasonable else where... in regards to pay at track, safety, flexibility with when showing up, etc

I guess I gotta call them since they don't like e-mails.

It is in the middle of the sticks ala how Nelson was and it is a nicer kept track and would be tons of fun if the price is right.
