The Evo had no trouble out there.
The Mercedes had no trouble out there.
The Miata had no trouble out there.
The Corvette had no trouble out there.
The Type-R Integra had no trouble out there.
The fuсking PT Cruiser had no trouble out there.
From the looks of it the S2000 survived with no real issues, just a scare.
The WRX STI had a minor problem that I don't have the details on. Sure wasn't rod knock.

Okay, there weren't 40 of each of them, but my bets would be if there were you wouldn't see 10% of them limping home.

But what if there were forty 10-15 year old Evo's out there? Many with motor swaps, and many making double the power levels they left the factory with?

Has there ever been an SER track day when cars haven't broken? I know in Chicago Happynole spun a bearing *pulling into the track* (broken sender adapter)! Lourok tossed a couple of rockers in his car (well somebody else was driving, but whatever) at the track, then spun a rod the next day at the dragstrip. Rick's (best B15) car did beautifully all day at the track then inexplicably went into limp mode 2 miles away. He didn't have a trailer that year, so he had to go home (Nashville) and drive all the way back with a trailer to get it.

The following year in Vegas, Mike Kojima grenaded the transmission in his dog car and several others had issues as well. There's no voodoo here. These are (mostly) modified cars and they're getting flogged on a racetrack. Sometimes they are going to break.

i agree with this statement. Our cars are just plain old!. Most people are tracking there cars with 100k plus on the motor. Its like day and night for these motors. You go from driving normal for 100k miles plus and then out of nowere your drive it like you stole it. With the normal wear and tear of the motor plus the heavy abuse of the track Something is bound to break guys. And that is all that is probably going on. Im sure that if our cars came out the lot brand new nobody would have probably had an issue. Theres no mystery

I think you'd be hard pressed to find an engine with as bad of an oiling issue as ours (VE and RWD blocks mostly excluded).

I disagree. I think alot of the issue is Roebling itself combined with the layout of our cars. Our cars have the motor on the right, with the oil pickup on the right on a track with alot of long mid-high speed right hand sweepers. that all adds up to oil being dragged away from the pickup and that equals kaboom. The hondas are layed out the opposite way, the rwd stuff is obviously rotated 90 degrees. I've personally lost a motor at roebling, in the last corner in a catastrophic failure. (Think spyhunter levels of smoke cloud). Our motors are pretty damn stout until you cross that line.

okay.. someone doesn't seem to realize that the majority of the tracks around the USA have more right hand turns (it's why the left front tire gets the most abuse and worn out first)

Let's see, autobahn ( all 3 tracks) , Mid-Ohio, Blackhawk, Grattan (with nice hairpin right turn mind you) and gingerman plus nelsen ledges and more!

F20C?? Are you crazy? In 15 years and 150-200k miles later lets see how that motor holds up to a couple track days.
You guys kill me with some of the stuff you post up.
Ok now another question. How do you get 10%???
2 cars had rod knock because of the track day. The g20 and CleanSERs nice ass low mile SER.
The G20 looked like it had been a beater and that it was just a fun car.
CleanSEr has admitted that he used the wrong oil for the abuse. Maybe that done it maybe it didnt.
In your case... Your motor has been tuned within an inch of its life.
Im not gonna argue with you anymore I have read your posts before and you argue with Andreas. One of the most noted guys on here. So I am not gonna attempt anymore. Point to be made and argue it until you get tired.... However its a fact! MOTORS BREAK!!!!!!!!

oh yeah.. and I have logged over 600 track miles at Road America already with my 95 G20 so anyone tries to say that track caused their rod knock will have me to compare (and I put that mileage on about 7 track days ago btw)

Congratulations! I woke up this morning without falling out of bed, too.
