Not so. we run De motors in ITA all day long at sustained high rpm and g loads. Higher than any of your street cars. The problem is knowone took the time to warm up their car slowly to temp on the first lap of each session.
90% of the cars leaving pitlane was balls to the wall heading to turn 1.

Ahem... I always let my car warm up before each run. I always left the pit out with my temp gauge at 180+. My first lap consisted of no shifting above 6k either.

At least spring for one of the new freak headers. The effort to do a Stock VVL setup will not be pleasing. You'd be better off repairing the bearing and getting some S4s. It will solve the oiling issue.

I've got S4's already... didn't help.

Sorry, you within that 10%. There is more to these failures than just a long straight and a flat track.

Sorry about the engine bro, at least you weren't in Vegas. Hop, skip and a jump back over the bridge and your home. Back to the drawing board.

Maybe the motor is not done for. I've knocked my motor because of the oil filter not being on tight enough. All my fresh brand new oil leaked out and tap tap tap she went. That was 4 years ago, but it still runs. I've had knock on maybe 2-3 occasions since then. Because the oil had drained into the oil pan. Usually after days of not running is when the knock reoccurs. I'm sure I'm pushing my luck. My point is that knock doesn't necessarily mean your motor is toast. Check your crank and see how bad it is.

I've also tracked my car at barber motorsports park, CMP, and Road Atlanta since that initial rod knock.

Yeah Taiden here on the forums had rod knock over 3k, and it took a long time for it to develop into full blown knock. One day it just sh*t the bed.

as soon as my car developed rod knock, stopped drivin her.. prolly coulda puppied her around a good long time but i didnt want to destroy the engine. i have history with the engine an it was my first sr.. so i jus let her sit.. ofcourse i did drive her to where i did my engine swap an i gave her 1 last burn out an oh man u couldnt even tell she knocked... one day im gunna rebuild her, or my friend will.. but that se-r/sr20 will not be forgotten an still lives on in many ways till this day
