back in the game again..with a B14
Been MIA for awhile...no SR. Im having that bug again, so I got lucky pick up a 1 owner B14, in decent shape. So happy having some de-stress project.

BTW... what are the typical RPMs on the car for you guys? I was in 5th gear at 65, but my rpm at 3100, that seems kind of high.

Cant wait to see it!

And yea that actually sounds about right for the RPM. I greatly dislike it too.

Trust me I want to badly, hopefully a local will chime in and willing to lend a hand. I don't have half the tools, engine hoist/crane or a truck. So buying a 750$ motor might end up being a lot more than it really should be.

Also since its already going to be torn apart I was thinking of atleast getting a nice clutch and possibly flywheel while its already easily accessible.

You can take your car apart with a 10, 12, 14, 17mm wrenches/sockets; I'm serious.
Although 19 and 21mm are for control arm removal, if needed.

You can carry the engine in place of your passenger seat, no truck needed
I both, dropped my old DE and installed my VE, by myself, with just a regular floor jack and some wood blocks.

Edit -
1. I have a black 94, that I'll probably never get to, sitting in my garage with a VE already in it. But it needs quite a bit to be running.
2. We should move this convo to your thread.

You could even start your own thread about it if you're feeling silly.

Welcome back blkbird2. Your rpms sound about right. Make sure the tire size is correct.

thanks for the input guys.
Yeah, it has been awhile, I drove my Altima auto and have been used to the 2-2.5 k rpm.

I thought it felt weird, like trying to breath or catching it's breath at 3K rpm while at 65mph.

the tires are correct though, 195/55-15.
