I live in San Antonio and they only thing they might check is your gas cap and drive it on the premises to make sure brakes work. No visual or sniffer.it cost 14.50 for the inspection sticker yearly and tips are greatly appreciated.Like any where you just have to know where to go.BTW I mainly tip because my tint is very dark

paying for inspection is very risky in tx one of my coworkers is co owner of a inspection place. Basically with the OBD2 cars up to say year 2000 you may have 2 not readys but the machine registers the make with the vin so its really risky for the inspector to sell one without authentication and the fine for you if ratted out is wayyy worse then no sticker. With my car I just reset the ecu drive until only 2 not readys inspect sticker then the third thing checks and I get a CEL about a block from the inspection place. B14 with RT ecu no emissions/rear O2. I would suggest getting a OBD 2 reader with the Emission readyness status indicators and doing the same thing as I (I have the medium one equiis from the parts store $100).

@nissanboi For the P10 I should be fine, but the S14 it won't have the port wired to anything as it will have an AEM EMS standalone, ha ha. I have a reader as well, so I'll clear anything that's in the JWT ecu if needed for sure!
@BURNT SE-R Thanks for the tip! Ha ha

don't move to austin if passing inspection is a priority stupid OBD2 check and sniffer thing, other than that Austin is awesome. Buda and Kyle are nearby and its safety only.. or Bastrop.

^this...

Imo, stay just outside of Travis county (for austin) and you're a lot better off. I had no issue getting a built ve w/a pte6262 inspected.

Add Dallas to the counties with OBDI emissions testing.
