Feature Requests
Minor request. Can we have the gauges snap to each other so that making a layout is easy and nice? An XY snap option would be awesome.

Also, if I want to rescale the rpm, any way to do interpolation so I don't have to modify every value of the rpm scale and auto adjust the fuel and ignition tables to be somewhat roughed out after the change based upon previous values?

what about data logging on off from a switch such as ac?

@JKTUNING @OnTheChip would it be possible to make it so the radiator fan stays on for a while after the car is shut off? either by time or maybe by temp?

another thing.. since the aicv isnt needed and some engines (ve's) dont come with them, why we cant use the wires for an output or something??

this is what im talkin about



not sure what ecu pin it is, i can possibly check sometime tho.. anyway it'd be sweet to have another output lol

Yes, it is possible, but would require a large amount of custom programming. You could accomplish the same thing with a turbo timer.

That's the FICD and is not controlled directly by the ECU. It turns on when the AC clutch solenoid is engaged.

Thats odd man I've always read it was the aicv an it was only active the first few seconds of startup.. weird..

Nissan's terminology for idle air control is kinda complicated. It consists of two units (separate pieces of hardware) and 3 devices (for separate Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) functions). The unit pictured is the IACV-Air Regulator (I miss-labeled it above as the FICD). The IACV-Air Regulator is powered by the fuel pump relay and provides extra idle air during warmup. There is no separate ECU control for this. The second unit is the Idle Air Adjusting (IAA) unit and it contains two devices, the Auxiliary Air Control (IACV-AAC), and the Fast Idle Control Device (IACV-FICD). The IACV-AAC is controlled by the ECU to maintain idle speed. The IACV-FICD is powered by the AC compressor relay to add extra idle air when the AC compressor is engaged to keep the IACV-AAC valve within a controllable range. The bottom line here, to address your question, is that the ECU has no separate control of of the IACV-Air Regulator or the IACV-FICD devices.

Correct, this device (IACV-Air Regulator) is wired directly to the fuel pump relay, no ECU control at all. It has a mechanism that operates a door, as the voltage is applied it starts shutting the door (takes 90 sec usually). I bypass it on all of my cars now days (simply because I don't fee like splicing into the fuel pump just for this stupid device). Car idles fine in the cold, and now it actually listens to the ECU target idle RPM's.




Also I'm not a big fan of running fans after car is off, quick way to drain your battery... Finally I don't think it would be possible because with the car off, the ecu is technically off right? Thus you would have to resort to third party ways of managing the power delivery.

In my vehicle, the fans are wired off an independent relay. If the power to the relay is kept live and the temp readings are set, even with the car turned off, I am sure you can wire it to the ECU/breakout box to keep it going after the car is shutoff.

But I do agree, terrible idea and a good way to drain your battery quick! My SPAL 2500+ CFM puller fans (2 of them and weigh several pounds a piece!!!!) would drain any regular (much less race car) battery in short order...........No thanks!

When the ignition switch is turned off, the ECU waits for the engine to stop turning, then after one second, it turns off the ECCS relay and dies. You cannot run anything with the ECU after the ignition switch is turned off. Also be aware, the breakout box is for analog INPUTS only. There are no outputs in the breakout box.

was thinking about the function of the CEL. any way to add and/or radio buttons or switches to each entry?

correct me if im wrong, but the way it functions now is "or" only. and + or would allow the cel to trigger under more specific circumstances such as tps=45-50% AND rpm < 6000. in theory, having the cel on under specific circumstances would allow one to accurately log a launch and dial in the parameters to help improve times.

The way it functions now is that all of the triggers are ANDed. In other words, ALL of the specified trigger conditions must be TRUE to activate the CEL.
