@Vadim

I lay down one swear word and I need to chill out? Here is something for you to like. I also would love to know how you think I am bent out of shape from, literally one word of cursing.

If I was bothered, trust me, your moderation staff would know about it.

It was a very nice and generous offer and I would imagine that our man Crim would be more likely to see the offer in the Server News section and not off-topic.

Where was the conspiracy at? Delve into that one some more to see how zany I really am.

I look forward to the discussion at hand. Here are the obligatory smileys because not just words can do, you need fancy pictures.

Not dedicated. It would be on a physical shared hosting server. Currently running dual quad core AMDs with 32GB on Debian.

you're allowed root access and able to install anything on the server with your user account on the shared server?

If so, imho, it never hurts to have mirrors in case the site goes offline we have a backup site we can fall back to. IDK if I'd switch the main site to a new server though.

my $.02

There's no need for root access. If we were to go through with it though, I'd set it up as a functioning mirror first at which point the owner could make the decision to change the DNS over to point to the new server.. no downtime.

I totally understand the hesitations to change, everyone gets nervous about this type of thing. When I worked at an ISP, I'd get it all the time, then it's usually followed up by a "wow, that was so easy." lol. Doesn't hurt my feelings if it gets decided against by the overlords. I just get sad when the site is unavailable.

If anything we could just do a mirror, I'd just need to be given access. I remember the old sr20forum.com had a mirror that came in handy from time to time.

I'm on a waiting list for notification when the new TLDs come available.... I'm thinking http://www.sr20.forum

From my powers of deduction, that is precisely what I thought. However, a few folks seem to still think otherwise (sweet, my own Fan Club)!
