I need vBulletin® and forum hosting advice
Sorry if this should be in OT, but I figured I would better get the attention of those I'm hoping to hear from on this (Vadim, Stephen, Cliff, etc)

My Formula SAE team (Homepage | - GatorMotorsports | University of Florida Society of Automotive Engineers) has asked me to handle revamping our private forum and website after (yet another) webmaster has fallen off the map.

We have been running some fairly archaic forum software for years. We also lost a huge amount of tech papers and other data when switching hosts last year. I have always been a proponent of switching to vBulletin®, I really like it better than any other forum that I have used, and it doesn't seem too expensive.

I'm looking for any advice weather I should go with vBulletin®, and where I should go for hosting? We previously had a company that gave us free hosting as a team sponsor, but they proved unreliable. The team website is currently on HostGator, which is where the last webmaster set it up because he already had space there.

We have a backup of the lost forums hosted on one of the team member's personal accounts temporarily here: Gator Motorsports Forum ? Index page

Thanks for any input!
