Please pay attention to the server news section. We locked editing of the classifieds threads after 120 minutes of thread creation. This is to prevent people from deleting the information from their first post after their items are sold.

You can close your threads in the classifieds, too.

I wish you guys would keep the changes to the forum in one thread on top of the server news section as a sticky... it's hard to keep track of all of them....alot of them were unknown to me like this one. It would nice to have them dated too. This is not a bad thing i understand why it was done....but damn.

OR, you could have just gone into the server news section where you're currently at, and found the first couple of threads....

First one that comes to mind is "Close our own FS threads" Reason being that it talks about for sale threads...

Honestly, in a way I don't see the point of this as well....if it's my item that I'm selling why can't I modify my own thread.... What if I decide I w to change the title.....or add additional pictures down the road... I don't see the problem with changing titles and marking the item as sold. Someone was complaining about this??? Why....because they don't know what a fair price is to item to sell their own items for???....... Marking the item sold it a courtesy from the seller, if you ask me.....and it saves alot of time for others who don't want to search through multiple pages just to find a updated price or if the item is still even available .

Okay so let me keep this simple for you.

1. People complain because an item gets sold, and then the OP deletes the entire first post. Therefore, if they want to sell something similar they have no idea what to gauge the prices against. This is a valid complaint. It will help a new seller with setting a fair price that could get their items sold faster.

2. Your updated price or if item is still available argument is poor. People don't update the first post as it is. You have the option to close your own thread in the classifieds sections, so instead of complaining about the editing of posts, why don't you just close the thread when the item is sold? That way people aren't going to bump your 3 year old FS thread asking if it's still available...

I have a mild complaint against this.

For my brake pads thread, I tried doing inventory updates as a new post. Most members ended up asking me how many I had left.

I eventually stopped doing that and just kept updating the first post with numbers for prices, shipping info, quantity on hand, next expected shipment of more inventory, etc...

Now the new guidelines no long allow me to do this but I prefer it that way it is because I hate it when an entire for sale ad is deleted. It is bad enough pictures can be pulled from an image provider.

Sorry, had to vent.

It's rather difficult and server intensive to disable only the first post.

If you guys need to do first post updates, simply report your post with the information you wish to update and we'll be more than happy to accommodate your request for update.

Alot of items are not even sold within 2 hours......is it possible to get a 24 hour window instead? That seems fair in my eyes...
