You can make a post using the "Quick Reply" section and post it, all without the page reloading (it may look like it reloads, but it doesn't)... That will cause the "issue".

Edit: It just happened to me too. But once I actually refreshed the page, the time updated. When you use the quick reply, or even edit a post within the page it does not reload the page. AJAX ftw/ftl.

The issue yesterday was different I believe. We are talking about 2 seperate things.

The issue yesterday was that the server was about 10 minutes or so AHEAD of time. So it was 'actually' like 13:02 and the server said it was 13:12 or something. Clearly an issue with the server time. If anything it would be behind, not ahead due to refreshing.

If you look way down at the bottom of the forum page you'll see:

All times are GMT -5. The time now is XX:YY ZZ which is probably both the server AND forum time.

I guess I'm just saying you can't compare the post time (above the avatars) to the forum time (below) and always expect them to match even immediately after making a post (unless you make sure to refresh).

If the time displayed at the bottom of the page is ever AHEAD of time, I agree that's clearly not right.

Something has definitely changed, because yesterday, and in the past, I noticed on more than one occasion post times at least 5 minutes 'in the future'. Cliff probably nailed it on the head though, with his thought that someone else noticed it, and re-synched the server time.

Nit pick? No, definitely not. Although I have been accused of being WAAAAY to specific some times, I'll admit to that. :o

Just trying to help out. If it matters not then so be it.

In regards to the clock at the bottom of the page, I will sheepishly admit I never even knew it existed. So, I was comparing my computer time with the actual post time. i.e. my computer saying 8:59pm when I posted and the server time(within the post) indicating it was 9:07pm.

Also, this was not just a yesterday thing, it has been like this for a short while now. I would guess 2-3 weeks, but I am not at all certain of that. The post time vs the actual time has never been accurate since I have been a member. I couldn't care less but I notice small things like this all the time. Just my personality type I suppose.

It appears as though we are all on the same page now, so I digress.

...back to preening.

Edit: Post time 2:49pm, actual time 2:49pm. All's well that ends well! :]
