Speaking of which, I just got a rather large and obtrusive hole in my trunk repaired. My guy did a great job too. I will post up pics of what professional hole patches look like if the section goes up.

Plus one for a good idea.

Depending on how its setup up I would say do 2 sub categories or sticky threads right away under it. (1) equipment and how to use it properly/safely, (2) stritcly how to's. Then in the general area anyone can post up misc things they have created or working on as well as questions.

Rules: Besides the general forum rules you really only need to add the Posting pictures is a must for this section, which davy stated above.

That's what I was thinking. This seems like it would work best imo.

Maybe a sub category for for asking questions too.

Ya, couldn't hurt. Just makes it way easier to find what your looking for when searching and everything more organized.

So what happens when someone wants to ask a question before doing any welding ? They didn't actually do anything yet but would like some advice or information before going out to get the materials or tools?

Damm, had the page open since last night so I didn't see the other replies, But the following pretty much answered my first question

I think it should just be a broad section, some stickies and how to's like every other, but be open to any and all questions about fabrication, welding, machining, etc.

The only bad thing about stickies is you have to sort through for the info you want compared to a sub category with a thread for each piece of information. Theres a lot of different equipment out there with great deals on information. Would be a bit much if it was all tossed together.
