Technical Corner
I've been wanting a section that would have only the technical discussions. Basically no "HELP ME MY CAR DOESN'T START". More of a section for where we can discuss how our cars tick.

Few examples of these kind of threads:

Or even:

Basically a thread would begin with a question that would make us all scratch our heads, then after we figure out the best solution it can turn into a How To post to move to the How To section. This new Tech Section would probably house all posts that contain Information (instead of using the How To section).

Isn't this called the how-to section??

This splitting hairs of different forum sections is getting redundant.

The "How-To" section is for detailed, step-by-step directions on how to accomplish a specific task. A complete answer to a "How do I do this?" question. A tech section would be completely different; facilitating discussion (theoretical, experimental and practical) on aspects of automotive interest. We had a recent discussion on knife-edged crankshafts. That doesn't even begin to belong in the "How-To" section.

okay, get rid of the how-to and make it a Tech section.

edit: never mind, read below "HowTos" it says: Technical Writeups and HowTos

Yah, a tech section would be for discussion, not proselytizing.

I don't believe in religion.

ooohh, Why not make a Social Group and only people in the group can discuss?

I mean, we don't really need a section cause the handful of punk kids like Ben and Vadim would be the only active people in there.

I'm going to hold off pushing for new sections until some downsizing happens.
