This isn't a photography forum so I'm not sure what the big deal is about a little pixelation. I have the mod installed on my own vb site and it does not pixelate so I am not sure what the issue is.

The pixelation doesn't just happen when you resize massive pictures. Even if there is the image is just barely too large, and gets resized by the algorithm, it experiences the same awful amount of pixelization.

HP10T, I'd love a link to your forum so I could see your plugin in action? PM is fine.

As far as this not being a photography forum... The fact that we even allow [lossy] JPGs to be embedded already makes that abundantly clear.

I dont like the pixelation either. Just re-size the pics before you post them to the forum. I dont know why anyone needs a 4000x3000 size pic anyways unless its going to be printed. PB, flickr, and etc all do pic resizing.

Also, huge ass pictures take longer to load.

^^ Get faster internet eheh. I like bigger pictures so I can have a huge one to look at if I want to see specific details.

Why not just set it for extremely large photos, like over 1600pixels wide?

If the majority of photos are smaller than that anyway, than the resizing quality won't affect them.

Oh wow yah if you want to make the threshold that large, I'm fine with that.
Sort of defeats the purpose though?

I'd be fine with 1,280px threshold for width. But that's probably where I'd draw the line.
Again, something tells me that would defeat the purpose for those who want this implemented. I'm guessing they want something like 800px?

If it fits on my 13" laptop, I'm OK.

I'm not crazy about scrolling down and across and up and right.

But then again, I'll cool either way.
