Attention Moderators: For Sale Section advice
Due to the amount of scammers lately i think we should have some rules for posting in the for sale section. I know a lot of people are not going to like it but i think its a must. Im a member of a mazdaforums and their general rule for selling is:

Pics required-if not thread is deleted.

In with the pic/pics you must have at least one picture showing your user name and date on a piece of paper next to the item being sold.

No for sale section posting unless you have more than 50 posts, off topic posts not counted.

I really think we should have some rules like this. I know its kind of a pain but seriously there has been way too many people losing money and people coming in scamming people in the last 6 months.

We can make this a discussion of some ideas and if any rules section gets applied the mods need to be strict about them. No playing games with it. I know we are a tight community but even then its peoples money being played with and the last few scammers have taken not just little amounts but hundreds.

Thanks for the suggestions Ashton. I'm moving this to Server News section and going to bring this to the team's attention.

Thanks,

Vadim

I remember a thread a while back saying something about suggesting having a post count to post in the for sale. Im saying go further than that. like this last guy who scammed everyone. He would have gone through a big hassle trying to come up with pics meeting those qualifications to even have it in the for sale section.

I think these suggestions make sense, minus the username on pics. That's just too much of a hassle for people I think.

The paper with the user name is the most important part. It makes it certain the parts are real and their parts not pics of other peoples parts.

Problem is that if you do this you HAVE to enforce it on everybody. There are many people that don't want to be bothered with taking pictures of parts that everybody knows what they look like. Plus it doesn't really stop any scammers. All they have to do is have a part or be leet at photoshop and they are back in scamming business.

Scammers will always scam. You are just making them do a little work or change their game.

The 50 posts thing is a joke too. Over on the turbo miata forum they have a 10 post requirement... I got bashed for signing up and posting 10 times quickly so I could sell some parts.... I refuse to help those a-holes now. Just because somebody doesn't post doesn't mean they aren't a legit person. I personally have only been scammed by people with high post counts that have been around for a while.... I have been scammed 3 times on this forum.

All the rules do is isolate you IMHO. I come here because it is an open forum and normally good experience.
