Its got a few dings and dents, its not an sr car, the dash is pulling, its relative on the mileage, its an a/c car, interior doesn't look terrible.... I say 800 bucks. If your going to do an sr swap just buy a ser with a smoked motor, and go from there, as just a cheap gas saver car I guess, but its not like its gonna get 10 mpg more than an sr. Especialy a tuned 10-1 motor. As someone who has bought a number of ser's for sub $1K, a non ser is kinda, meh. Doesn't someone on this forum have a so so ser to sell this guy for 1500 or so?

If the rust factor is zero, and the run factor is 'like a top', I'd say it looks like a perfect daily.

I think the prices and market on these cars is expected to go higher, as the price of gas gets higher.

I would go as high as $1600 for a good running SE car with low rust and a good black paint job to start with.
At some point, the fuel savings will increase value, as this car is capable of 28-32 mpg, if you keep your foot out of the pedal in the lower gears.

You can save the entire cost of the car, in one year of fuel $aving, over a mod'd 6 cylinder. Rusted bitch-bolts are a key factor as is the condition of the frame rails and fuel / brake lines. They seem to take a beating under the car, if it has been lifted incorrectly.
Make sure the brakes lines are safe. They can be obtained, if they are wrecked but this is a good way to complain about the price of the car and save a few bucks at negotiations.
Pillar rust is also a deal breaker. Almost everything else you can replace and doesn't matter.

almost no rust and descent paint job, has got a few dings though, I've never built an sr, just toyota and honda motors, but I hear this is the best from the people who know their stuff

I wouldn't mind having the SE-R car, but haven't found one yet, mostly SE's or Xe's and I still want to drive it a bit before I do the swap, if you know of anyone with an SE-R thats in running condition and want to help a new SR fan out, let me know

Rust factor is very minimal, don't know how it runs yet, but it would be a fun daily, but I have the camry already, so just looking for something to start out with, this is the second FWD performance car that I've owned outside of my old CRX, if you consider that performance :o: ..........

SE is not a performance car man, wait for an SE-R.

if the price is right, i'd buy it
cause even if you don't end up swapping it or anything

its so nice that you can probably sell it for a profit

but I keep hearing that either way, if I'm gonna swap the motor out and upgrade suspension and brakes, its not really worth buying an SE-R??? isn't that right???

se-r has alot of stuff better than the se

so unless you can find a poor conditon se-r to use as parts
its cheaper to buy an se-r
but your not gonna find one that clean for a good deal

i got my se-r parts car for $400 (thanks ohio rust )

The SE-R already has the transmission, most engines to swap comes with automatic trannys (that means you need to get a flywheel also), then most engines comes without ECU and harness, which is already on an SE-R, it's just so much expensive to convert a 1.6 to an SE-R, rather than just try to get an SE-R. I know its difficult to get a good condition one now a days but give it a try.
