rpm and mph run off of the speed sensor on the trans. 91 should be the mechanical sensor where a cable runs from the back of the instrument cluster to the transmission right by the driver side axle.

The light is probably lose or just needs a new one. If you have the cluster out to fix the speedometer cable replace the bulbs.

'91s do have a cable-driven speedometer. The cable goes through the firewall from the speedometer to the speedometer pinion on the top of the transaxle. It can be a little tricky to see with everything installed in the car, but it's accessible. Sounds like you may have simply not reconnected the cable when you reinstalled everything.

^^ What they said.

Plus, if your speedometer cable is broken (happened to me once on my '91), you can easily replace it without removing the gauge cluster at all.

Sweet sweet I did not expect all this help at all. Thanks for the diagram and very very helpful tips. For the speedometer cable I could just go to a advance auto parts and buy it if it is broken? Sweet to know the cluster is only a few screws for when I can replace the bulb so I can see at night lol. Hopefully I can take it to school soon and be able to check it out. Thanks everyone for the help
