Removing quarter window and windshield moldings?
I couldn't find anything and the manual is not clear, but do u have to remove the glass to replace the moldings? I'm prepping to repaint my car and those are in the way for me to do a good professional job and their all ripped or half torn, especially the strippings around the front and rear windshields. Any help would be appreciated. Or if someone already talked about this, please link me. Thank you.

The moldings on the rear quarter windows are part of the glass assembly. They do not get removed from the glass. To remove them, you have to remove the glass. The glass is held in with studs with nuts on the interior side, and obviously plenty of weather proofing silicone or similar gluing it in place.

The front windshield top molding (it is two pieces actually) and top-corner metal moldings could be removed without removing the glass, but the rest of it can not I don't think, so you're better off removing the windshield IMO.

I don't have much clue on the rear glass, but I'd predict it needs to come out too.

Edit: These are the best pics I have of the rear quarter glass. http://www.sr20-forum.com/members-rides/554-benfenner-s-1994-black-se-r-2.html#post129902

Thanks! Damn. Looks like ill have to mask carefully around the glass area for now and try to match the paint later if I remove the glass. The quarter glass molding looks Nasty and its got bunch of pockets and rips. Wnt look good wit the new paint. Maybe I can spread some black silicone on it, use some glossy plastic sheets on top and remove it to have a nice glossy look again....
