Hey peeps maybe ya'll can help me out! I get only 200 miles to a full tank of gas and i can't seem to figure this out.. my setup is a 93 B13 with a jap-spec motor, BC stage 2 cams with retainers, I/H/E, magnaflow exhaust, Super AFC 2 street tuned by a reputable tuner, new oem O2 sensor, regrounded maf, freshly rebuilt injects and o-rings, freshly rebuilt distributor, fresh spark plugs, oem wires, cap, rotor, no fuel leaking but i get a bad exhaust smell when i drive hard..any more ideas? thanks

well you could...
1.check your long term fuel trims with your tuner's diagnostic tool.some times if a tunes its a smidge too rich, a little tweak to the k-constant or injector latency adjustment will help.
2.re-check the o2 sensor, engine temp and maf live.make sure the o2 is swinging hard rich to lean, lean to rich, and the maf's voltage is right per rev's.there's a graph of this somewhere in this forum (manifesto?).make sure its not throwing any other fault codes ie knock sensor.
3.is your egr valve connected? if no check that the egr's its not sucking air,has been blocked off right, and the motor hasn't got a mad air leak somewhere else(manifesto)
4.check the cat convertor/exhaust for blockage.
5.recheck the injectors/orings/fuel pressure.

is the fuel economy that bad on hwy use,or just around town?
do you have a higher than normal idle,or longer to return to idle?
did this come about after a change to the spec of the engine?

Could be a bad coolant temp sensor.

check your fuel trims and make sure your tuner really is that reputable.

hey thanks for the list of things to check . im gonna double check them. i rarely go on the highway this is all city use . my idle is at 800-850 and this always been an issue even before the engine swap.

so i put the car on a dyno and they said its tuned wrong and needs a retune.. i dont really know alot about these specs pictured:

what do you think is up with your idle? 850rpm idle is fine,so long as it's not stalling when you back off it.

your afr's are rich(2nd diagram),ideally these should be 12.5-13.1,so i'm guessing you don't have nistune/nismotronic.i don't know what there "tuning" dude, other than making sure the timing's right, plugs are ok etc etc?

Yea - if we can trust the AFRs on your dyno chart, you are running 30% too much fuel above the mid range at WOT. This tells me that your engine management system is not working properly or your tune is off. Compared to this tune, you would be better off with a stock ECU.
