You could also look into changing the final drive. That is the main difference between the two transmissions. The b15 with a p11 final drive will actually have a longer fifth gear.

I didnt think of that.

i have a brand new purchased from the nissan dealer b15 2.0se trans mated to my VE and it was 1200 i think. there are some slight alignment issues with the linkage when you use this tranny. when heavily braking on track pads the flex of the body would keep me from being able to downshift. really annoying on the track. thats with full poly bushings in everything.

^^^That's good to know. Not a problem that is brought up with the b15 transmission.

..Happynole has mentioned this issue before,as well as some others.Thats the first time I heard a theory of hard braking and chassis flex being the reason...but it makes perfect sense.
I helped install a B15 trans a few years ago in tearoffguys nx...and we ground away some of the linkage to make it clear(it was obvious it would not work).I will be sure to make as much clearance as possible on the next one.
he hasnt complained of any shifting problems, but doesnt track the car either.

have zero issues with the p11 but I made sure that I had extra clearance between the stabilizer rod and the shifter linkage.

from the factory info posted few posts back, not much diff between p11 and b15 gear ratios other than 5th and final. has anyone swaped the final drive from p11 to b15? any info (difficulty, labor, etc) would be greatly appreciated. thanks
