I find it is MUCH easier to do the job if you have the clutch pedal depressed. Also, a flexible magnetic tool will help you pull the end of the cable out and over the catch on the pedal. There is certainly no need to remove the driver's seat.

x2.. I'm 6'3 and I'm fairly skinny... I had trouble getting under there and seeing the pedal... It hurt my back until I removed the seat. It's 4 bolts and highly recommended
