Request for someone with their Sentra's suspension on their garage floor
I'm pondering using front tophats on the rear of my car (the rest of the strut/spring would be from the rear) as the tophat on the front isn't welded. Can anyone compare the two side by side and maybe take some pictures? See if there's any offset, or if the bolt pattern is different, or if it is thicker? Below is the pic of the rear one I would like to swap for a front one. Thanks!

What are you trying to do?

I'm trying to see if the front tophat can be used in the rear of the car. I want to put longer bolts in and the rear tophat is welded while the front's isn't. But I'm hopefully going to be buying some off a forum member or getting some from a local junkyard this week, so I'll be able to test it myself.

It will work, one of the bolts is very slightly off but there should be enough clearance for it to fit

That is great news. I've got some fronts on the way, can't wait to try them!

What do you mean the depth is different? If you are referring to the bolts that mount to the strut tower, I have ones that are longer I plan on putting in. Or do you mean the upper spring perch? Or the overall height of the tophat?

The patterns are very very similar and if he is going to use longer bolts like he said then it will work 100%.

IDK if you've tried removing the studs yet but they come out with ease if you put them on an edge and bang the shit out of them with a hammer

When I get them, that's exactly what I will do.

the diffrence from the strut plate to the mount. in the frt there shallow. in the rear there pretty tall.
