Budget racing seat arrived - Summit Racing Poly Seat
In my continued quest for a lighter vehicle, as well as a more supportive seat, I am trying out the Poly Racing Seat from Summit Racing. I wanted lightweight and supportive seat without breaking the budget. As I am a bigger guy, I was weary of picking these up, thinking for sure that they would be too small for me. Why would I think that? Well, the seat, cover, bracket, and sliders only cost $119.94 shipped!!! (plus tax). You read that right. Check out Summit Part Number SUM-CSUM2300. I also received a $20 off coupon for my next order of $100 or more lol.

So the seat arrived in two days. I opened the box, and to my surprise, the seat is awesome. Its good looking, solid, and light (only 12.5lbs). Best of all, it fits me perfectly. I am only 5'9, but I have some heft in the midsection. The cover is nice looking, and fits well (isn't snapped down in picture). The brackets and sliders are steel and appear to be solid pieces as well.

I can imagine if you car is a daily driver that these will be very harsh. My car is not a daily driver anymore, so I wasn't too worried about the comfort factor. The cover is padded, but its as thin as a napkin. BUT, the seat conforms to your body very nicely.

I am aware that the straight brackets will not work on there own, so I will need to figure something out.

Tomorrow I will work on installing the seat. But so far so good. Here are some pictures.

i seen a set off my local craigslist they wanted like 40.00 without rails, but the seat sits a little too far back for me. otherwise iwould prolly get them and try them out.
