well the maroon and red body parts explains the color change but still, flat black....

for flat black, it does look good. You did a good job. I just don't care for it myself.

Do you have "before" and "during" pics?

vqman, have you ever tried spray painting a car.. or in this case using a roller?? anything other then flat black usually turns out like shit... Plus its cheap.. an he's right about the hiding dents an dings..

Looks damn good to me.. like the car means business..

yes it's hard, i have tried on a friends 1982 Chevy 1-ton with a dump bed.. it's a PITA...

like I said, it looks like he did a good job, its just not for me. I'd personally save for a "real" paint job and have a professional do it.. but that's just me.. to each his own.

Unfortunately I didn't think to take any "before" pics. The car will mean much more business once it has a SR20VE swapped into it I wish that you lived a little closer Lynch, cause I'm sure you could show me a thing or 20 about VE swappage. I guess 3 hrs away isn't hugely far away though. How much do you think all of the associated parts for the swap would cost? I'm shooting for around 200whp.

well.. 200whp is a funny thing, depending on the dyno really idk.. plus tuning time also..

basicly your lookin at 8-1200 for the engine, ssac header is 150ish but a protech 4-1 is like 850ish.. then you could spend 1100+ on a custom xcessive intake mani.. n1 cams prolly run ya 500 bux or so.. springs an retainers 300ish.. then ya may wanna throw in a light weight flywheel.. those go from 160-450 then theres the gspec pulleys i forget the price on.. summit rpm switch 50.. 3" exhaust 400ish.. gspec stage 3 clutch kit 350ish, nistune ecu + all the goodies 550

i'd say you can do a simple ve swap for 2500ish but a more advanced ve swap is gonna run ya 5-7 thousand dollars.. i've easily got 5 grand into my car..

i'd be willing to do the swap for a few hundred bones if ya brought it down..

The car currently has a Roadmagnet/AGX setup. I also have the full energy suspension kit (mostly un-installed still). I also have the energy suspension steering rack bushings that need to be installed. I also have some cheapo e-bay front strut brace. I plan on upgrading to the monster Overkill Engineering one in the future. I also plan on getting Progress rear sway bar, probably a front sway bar eventually. I'll probably end up going with some Ground Control coilover with some CSKs or a Progress coilover setup eventually. I also need some sort of camber adjustment.

As for power parts the car currently has a SSAC header with a 2 1/2" muffler shop special exhaust. I also have a Hotshot CAI, and a APEX AFC. The car needs some tuning and I need to fix a few issues here and there, but it should be pretty fun to drive once I get it on the track.

I also plan on getting the Mazworx 4 point roll bar and some Corbeau racing seats in the future as well. I'll also be doing some sort of radiator upgrade (Koyo) to deal with the heat of track abuse.

I may have to take you up on that. It probably won't be until about a year from now at the earliest. I'll probably start saving and shopping around for the best deals on the parts that I'll be needing for the swap. I'm sure that with a decent suspension I'll be able to have a lot of fun at the track even if there isn't as much power as I would like.

I was originally thinking about going turbo. I have this at home if I need some turbo fun and a ton of torque.

(sorry mods, I know that this isn't a B13)

i coulda went turbo twice with all the cash i've spent.. could be makin 300-350+ whp right now.. but man i beat on my car all the time, no problems ever.. knock on wood.. seems like the turbo guys are always breakin something lol, an i jus dont have the cash to always be fixin stuff.. i do my upgrades yearly.. so i cant offord to break down inbetween lol
