Thread: Either tranny or head problem!! Need help!!?

This problem is hard to explain because you'd really need to drive it to know!! the best explination about the problem is just that when I drive it, the thermometer tends to jump up half way massivly! Also that the torque tends to lag apon excelerating after every shift in gear!? If anyone could help with my problem it'll be awesome!!

Check your timing and the wire going to the knock sensor, that could explain the loss of torque. A bad coolant temp sensor may also be the problem.
As for the temp rising, my sister had that same issue with her G20 and the problem was with the gauge cluster. We replaced it and no more jumping temp needle. You could also have a bad coolant temp sensor, try replacing it. Hopefully that fixes your problem and you don't have to worry about a headgasket issue.
