i never had any off throttle backfire.. did you have any issues with your previous tune? or is this a new install?

Well previous tune also had off throttle backfire, and that might be related to my fuel pump which seems to loose fuel pressure when worked hard (32psi with hose on vs 38psi which it should be at). Not sure how those two are related...

Will try to change the pump and throw in the N60 to the mix, which should improve high rpm airflow..

Will let you know.

Thanks.

Used to run this bin:

B13 VE w/ DE Maf bin - SR20 Forum

but wanted to correct the backfire, plus i think it was running a little too rich on that tune (a lot of carbon buildup on my exhaust tip).

Let me know if you have tried it?

thats the one i have on my calum basic that i use to use, right now its running my gf's sr20ve in her G20.. never had back fire problems with that one either.. an it didnt Seem to run rich..

i bet ya its a exhaust leak.. i had to have my header welded on an i dont think they did it good enough cause i get a slight pop when im drivin softly shifting from 1st to 2nd an from 2nd to 3rd.. an i didnt have that problem at all before the header swap..

You might be right, I will check around the exhaust.

Which bin runs better (faster), the alfredtest or the one that you have on your gf/s G20?

I find alfred has better torque down low, but his bin seems to be agressive up top (more of a drag racing setup). Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

well... here..

heres a race using the calum basic with the calum ve bin..
YouTube - Lynch's Sentra

heres a race with my nistune ecu running the alfred bin
YouTube - sr20ve se-r @ Portland International Raceway ( PIR ) 04-16-10

the only thing that changed from video to video was i didnt have the cai on any more for the newer runs and the ecu/tune.. (even tires were the same)

i know they're drag races but its all i really have to compare.. aside from seat time helpin a little, i also believe takin the cai off may have helped a little (very little) but mostley the tune change i think helped most.. the low end pulled alot harder it seemed like..

edit: so just so we're clear, the best time i could get with the calum stuff was 14.7 the alfred bin 14.4

Thanks Lynch,
That is the best bin comparo (real world) I have seen so far, what was your 60' time in both cases (I hope it was the same), and what was the trap speed?

I felt (during road racing) that Alfred bin had more lower end grunt compared to the other bin (and calum base tune).

off hand i dont have my time slips.. infact i lost most of them when i cleaned my car out.. if i remember right the 60ft's were a tad faster with the alfred bin but the traps seemed to vary from 94-96mph with both setups..
