Thread: Tires?

What kind of tires would you guys recommend for a daily B13 VE that hits the course on the weekends?

Needs to be tires I can ride home also.

Depends what you wan't to spend. Seeing as your in Florida...a semi slick would be no problem. Toyo R888?

I have Yoko parada spec 2's and their amazing...but if I did track racing more often I'd use R888's.

i prefer the toyo RA1s myself.. but soon will be forced to use the R888

I just didn't like the chunking I saw happening with the r888

I heard the R888s like to be very hot, so not great for street use but great for the track.

Anyone run Yokohama ADVAN A048?

I had a set.. will never buy another set.. overpriced and don't last as long and don't stick as well (not compared to other's anyway)


the R888s are the RA1 replacement but RA1 for now is still available..

I've seen some nasty wear on the R888s from fellow racers who went to them... I'll eventually be required to use them with my spec miata but until then, I'm happy with my wear like iron RA1s

I think everyone in this thread is pointing you in the wrong direction. If the car is daily driven and you have to drive on the tires all the time, you would be much better off with something along the lines of a Falken Azenis or Hancook RS-2. I wouldn't reccommend driving any real R-comp on the street.
