New Hampshire Motor Speedway COMSCC School and Track Days
In the wet, at the end of Tuesday...grid was dry, rain cut loose with tires set for dry, car was tight, dorifuto time in the B13...at times looks like B13 vs. all the Miatas in New England

YouTube - NHMS VeryWetSlipSlide

If you live in the NE, COMSCC runs great school track days in NH, no free pass "hey, you're a racer!", you have to earn your slot if you want a license to compete in their events, you don't just show up for a "HPDE" and go out to practice your mistakes.

Next school is on a weekend, Aug 1-2 - highly recommend it!

How much does it cost? I have been thinking about doing this some time, I only live about 20 mins from Loudon.... Would love to get in the SER and go a couple laps

And in the dry...a track with a little bit of everything, sort of either do it well, or you suck, not much in between space esp with lower hp cars, no place to hide your mistakes, pure momentum course. Loved it, first time back there since 2003.

Car was a champ, not a single issue this year in over 800 on-track miles since March. Have to love my B13, as you can see from the first vid above, it's even very controlled in a spin - caused by getting into the muck line in heavy rain, and too abrupt steering when traction was already going, didn't fight it, just let it run to clear the racing line, then both feet in. Good brakes count!

This is out of date as are almost all maps, there is a brand new chicane off turn one that changes everything from the old course:

20 minutes? You are in a great location. I go there even though it means an overnight and 3-4 hours each way from NW CT.

http://www.comscc.org/getting-started/

under $230 a day for highly qualified instruction, typical 4 sessions on track, 4 in classroom, and while you might solo if you nail everything day one, you typically need to attend two schools to rate a COMSCC license which lets you run any of their events. They're serious about teaching people how to do it right, IMHO a lot better than slapping an "N" on a car, running a session or two with an instructor and then turning people loose on the track. NHMS is a great learning track, but not especially forgiving, and there are wide run out areas in strategic locations for a reason

from http://www.comscc.org/getting-started/about-events/

"In order to keep the fun quotient high and the risk/damage factor low, COMSCC does not hold races. Instead each event consists of a Driver's School on the first day and Time Trials (also known as Time Attack) on the second day.

The Driver's School gives the student the opportunity to drive their street car on a race track under controlled conditions and the supervision of a qualified instructor. Each student attends two classroom sessions in addition to their track time. Students learn the concepts of the road racing sport, such as the meaning and use of flags, "the line", and most importantly; proper car control including cornering, acceleration, and braking techniques that benefit the student not only on the road course, but in emergency street situations as well. Time Trials

The Time Trial allows the student to "compete" against other students without the risks associated with wheel-to-wheel racing. A time trial is essentially a race against the clock. In a format similar to autocrossing, each participant makes timed runs around the track, and these times are compared against other drivers competing in similar types of vehicles. Finishing order is determined by lap times, with the lowest time being the "winner".

Athough most new students are allowed to Time Trial at their first event it should not be expected. New students must be approved by an instructor before being allowed to Time Trial since the participant drives solo. We sill encourage you to sign up for both days and if you are not signed off to Time Trial a refund will be given for the second day."

Safe and fun, and you learn more in a day than many higher priced schools. People are great, serious but fun, kind of what you might expect in the state of "Live Free or Die"

Also check out Connecticut Autocross & Rally Team
for good track days, farther away for you, but excellent track time and well run events.

Better map, the first turn config with full chicane makes life off the straight much more interesting!

A lot of recent work has been done on the course with new pavement, it is in excellent shape.

COMSCC NHMS October 31st- November 1st Saturday-Sunday
Yes. Just missed 2nd to last one, but you're in luck, there's one more.

Check comscc.org for schedule - they also have a "first time" $100 discount off still going. If you've never been to one of their events, you can get $100 off.

Just showed up this week in my inbox. Many events are weekdays so you have to get time off, this one is HPDE on Saturday and TT on Sunday. You don't have to go Sunday but you cannot go do TT until you get their club license through the HPDE event(s). The HPDE's I went to were great, quality instructors who really know the course well, learned a lot more than I expected.

The $100 rebate program for first time NH participants is also still in effect.

More details are on the website. http://www.comscc.org/registration/

Signed up yesterday and it's filling up quickly, so if people have interest in a weekend event probably it will be full by the end of the week. I'll be up there both days

Is there any requirement that need to be done to my car or could I race my daily driver? Looks like a nice track for a D1 event.
