Hey Will,

If you are on a budget, there is really nothing wrong with a set of the Falken Azenis RT-615s. Sure they don't have the ultimate grip of a true "R" compound tire likeh the Nitto NT-01 (how much are those anyway) or Hoosiers, but you can't beat the price for something that will outgrip almost all other street tires (with the exception of the Bridgestone RE01-R and maybe one or two others). These tires are developed for STS autocross use where "R" compound tires are not allowed. Vulcan tire has the Azenis RT-615 in 195/60/14 for $66 each!!! The 205/50/15s are $81. I will be getting a set of the 205/50/15 for my MR-2 Spyder for daily driving. But I also plan on bringing them to the convention track day to use on my turboed B-13. Just for fun! I personally don't see the point in spending a bunch of money on a set of Hoosiers for instance unless you are competing and going for some really fast lap times. I started racing on toyos and used those for several years before getting a set of Hoosiers. Big differnece though.

Just another point of veiw for ya.

Hi Andy. I look forward to seeing you in Savannah!

I found the 14" NT-01s for $144 at discount tire, probably could be found cheaper though. I really would prefer to stick with a 15" wheel, and with the budget I really should get some Azenis and throw them on my current wheels. I just hate wheelspin and I want something that sticks, but I don't want to drive around on 150 dollar tires, but I also don't want to spend a couple hundred more bucks on 15" wheels to put them on and swap out. Damn I need a trailer.

Anyway, thanks Russell, I thought the Azenis were not available anymore but I'm going to grab some from that link.

I can't wait for this track day. The little roadcoarse driving I have done was almost too much fun.

Jagy, you can probaby get as much as 10 track days out of these tires, with good care.

Will, your car is going to have a lot of wheel spin coming out of the turns with the amount of power you have. THe NT01's will be far superior in terms of performance. They will , however, put more stress on your car (ie tranny, suspension, brakes). If you don't intend to do a lot of track days going forward, I'd go with the 615's. Just my 2 cents...

Thats what I assumed, my car is wheelspin central, I'll have to turn the boost down a bit. I just don't have the cash for $600 worth of tires plus another $250 for wheels to throw them on. With the Azenis I can just put them on my stock wheels and ride them to the convention.

I really appreciate all the feedback from you guys. It has helped this decision a lot.

If someone wants to move this to the convention section, that would be cool
