Thread: Metal pipe radiator hose?

I have seen these for other cars and thought the idea was at least worth suggesting. I know there are silicone hoses, but they all leak slowly and would eventually need replaced.

These are a nice idea and seeing this made me also think of possibly stainless steel coolant pipes with capable ports in them for coolant feed / return. They would clean up the engine bay a lot because the coolant pipes on our motors are pretty old and can end up looking nasty.

are you tracking your car??

unless your car is putting out so much hp the it blows the hoses. this is unnecessary and will attract more heat to your coolant.

nismosigma I like that idea of adding ports too



No it is a street car for the time being. What are your thoughts on the subject? Bad Idea?



I don't see how HP effects pressure inside of the coolant hoses. I have had rubber hose warp/split and leak. Metal pipe wouldn't do that.

I think you could be right about attracting more heat, but I bet it would work the other way and help with cooling in some minuscule amount. There is a lot of air flow to the coolant hoses on FWD SR powered cars.

Maybe just more as a bling piece?

well judging by that article, the benefits are really only for track cars.. for a street car, OE rubber hoses seem to be the best bet IMO..

jere most high hp/track cars run warmer and hotter then your regular na's. remember coolant builds pressure the hotter it gets. liquids to gas. A quality rubber hoses or silicone hoses work fine for our kind of cars and last along time. as far is this product goes its not a bad idea to have it made. if the demand is there im pretty sure it will be made.
