Thread: Tubular front control arms

Nope not on the back burner, just doing alot currently. Please be patient. We just finished the VE Cruise brackets, now we are able to get to work on these.

Man,Give OEM a break guys...They make alot of parts for GM and other makes,plus custom parts as well.Mark and Brian are great guys and will continue to make quality parts for our rides,but perfection takes time.
Being impatient will have them rushing parts out.Keep in mind that these guys dont own Nissans right now,and are makeing pretty much ANYTHING you want for our forgotten chassis.
They dont have cars at there disposal all the time to test fit parts.
I am sorta local,and helping supply parts for them to make.I will also take my car there as necessary to help too.
Happynole brought his car down from GA,and has left it twice for R&D.He is leaving his NX there too soon for more parts.

Keep up the good work ,Mark.Props to you guys for making some trick stuff for our cars.I will see you soon for some suspension goodies for my racecar!
I too,cant wait for these control arms,but I will wait how ever long it takes to perfect them.

The only reason i say this is I sent my control arms in on January 22 hoping to get these moving. Who knows when they started working on them and look how many other projects were done before these. They were put on the back burner and if i knew they were not going to use my arms then i would not have sent them and expected things to get moving.

I have said very little until now. All i hear is we will work on them next week. There is always a next week.

There have been a few of those get our hopes up posts, I see where you are coming from.But control arms aren't the same as ve cruise control bracket or a radiator support. There is more involved in suspension components. I would rather they get it right instead of get it done now. ya know?

Here are some quick pics. We made some very good progress on the proto version. Still have to add another backing plate, ball joint holder and rear mount tang.

I would like some feedback on the ball joint location. Alot of you are converting to these for that main reason. Do you need it higher, lower? Please just fill me in.

It would he awesome to he able to adjust the ball joint height, but I don't see that happening with a stock closed joint. What is the average ride height drop or at least before it starts causing problems to the stock joint?

If the ball joint could be placed higher, therefore lowering the arm to be at a more parallel position with the ground, that would be ideal (and is what most roll centre adjustment kits for mcpherson strut assemblies do that i've seen).

Would it be possible to use a balljoint setup that allowed shims to be placed for the ball joint so it would bolt on like this:
