Ok now I see the step. Mine doesnt need the step because I have counter bored the threaded portions to have a flat piece.

I also did mine out of aluminum not steel (even SS will eventually rust).

As far as engraving, no problems there, I could engrave a picture of your face on there if you wanted

I noticed that you put a translucent coat over a bare metal that looks to be sanded. You might want to consider using a chrome basecoat to cover the imperfections such as sanding marks, color variations in the metal, spotting etc etc. Tiger Powdercoat which I use has a really nice one called Xtreme Chrome which you might want to look into.

Otherwise good work.

Yeah, that is exactly what we were going to do. It was our first attempt with this candy color.
