Anybody from near BC in Canada need a NX parts car?
After owning my NX2000 for 22 years, I am afraid I have to give up on it. To repair it would cost more than the car is worth by a long shot.

They tell me that the fuel pump went and also the Engine computer as well. I will be sending it to the crusher soon, which is a shame, because I've put so many parts into it in the past 5 years. Last year -a new Cat. Previous year - new Catback exhaust. 5 years ago I put a Japanese-spec engine in that had only 88,000 kms, so now it has only 120,000kms on the engine and transmission.

All 4 struts were replaced, as well as the battery...and the body is except for the bottom of the fenders is fairly rust-free. It's a very original car - hardly any mods other than a custom exhaust and a K&N filter.

Sounds like they'll give me $500 for the scrap metal value of it. If someone were to offer me that for the whole car I'd consider it. So if you know someone in Canada who will tow it away from my mechanic's place, please contact me!

I can't part it out myself - I live in a strata condo.

Also, if you know of someone - an enthusiast - who'd buy it whole, please pass this on to them ASAP... Thanks. Search my original username for my other posts...it still looks the same, only the rust on the bottom of the front fenders is more pronounced - it's still only surface though...

Dang! This stinks man!
You should really keep it, doesn't sound like it needs much really.
If you were anywhere near me I'd snag it up in a heartbeat.
Hope you change your mind or someone saves it... sounds too good for the crusher for sure!

Anyways GLWS

@NX2KCA give me a shout. I may be able to help you with the parts you need. I really don't need another nx atm....

The fuel pump & computer are easy items to change out. Wish I knew about this before..... Tossed out a fuel pump & ecu before.....
I don't see how the stock ecu would not be working....

NX2KCA, I hope that you and Kleensleeper can get together and get this back into running condition. Unfortunately, you're simply too far away from me. I might have an ecu for a five speed.

Sorry, but no. It was more than the fuel pump. I had it replaced it and it still wouldn't run - good price on the pump, NissanNX, though. Cheaper than I could source.

I tested 1 used and 2 new ECUs and it still wouldn't start. It had to be a failure of one part leading to the failure of another, so there was nothing I could do -- I had to give up on it as it would have been thousands to rectify and the body, while in good overall shape (a good "10 footer" as they say), it was not great.

As it was I had to pay $600 for a car that was still not running - the guy spent a solid 4 days trying to fix it, devoted himself exclusively to it, and only charged me for 5 hours of labour. His shop has been my mechanic for 17 of the 22 years I've had it and it is the chief reason why it's lasted me this long. PM me if you are in the Lower Mainland area and you need the name of a good shop.

So, I'm afraid I have to report I'm NX-less. For the first time since 1993. I sold it for scrap - got $200 to tow it away. It will live on I believe - the junkyard has it now. Look up "Dirty Bird Towing" - they have it now and are going to part it out. See the pic below for the departure...

I couldn't part it out myself -- I live in a townhouse.

So thanks for the thought, nickr. And thanks all for following along thus far, but I'm afraid the tale does not end with a very happy ending.

But, for a car to serve me for 300,000+ Kms and only let me down 3x (for the same kind of thing - fuel pump about 10 years ago, the engine bottom end grenading itself at 250,000 and now something wrong in the fuel delivery again). I definitely cannot complain. I had great adventures with this car, and the $15k I bought it for new, and the various repairs along the way - I wouldn't have traded that for anything.

To all - If you enjoy your NX half as much as I did "ol 55" (the vin at the end was 0055) you'll be laughing. Change the oil & filter every 6 months and tune it once a year and you'll have a damn good, reliable car.

So long Ol 55 (sucks cause my fave # is 5) rip . Hopefully it at least lives on through many others.
If I had a car that I loved that long I don't think I could ever let it go.
