Yea I drove from Ohio to long island to look at a car that the guy was clearly misleading as the garbage bondo he slapped on and painted the day before I arrived was still mushy and sticky. That was about 4-500 down the drain. Another I went to Wisconsin for a no rust shell, it had a hole in the rear strut well that rusted out on an s13. I've had a few bad trips. Ve swaps are harder I would agree, im still debating det or vet for this nx I picked up. The only decision I've made so far is I don't want to cut anything if I can avoid it, so it will be water to air intercooler setup most likely.

I've you've already had a VE swapped car, go DE-T. Once you have a VE and put enough $$ in the usual bolt-ons you sort of hit a limit and can't get past like 220WHP~ish, unless you want to spend some serious cash and rip the motor apart. And even then, the best headers for the VE are like $700 bucks or more, the N1 cams are $400 at least, full 3" exhaust another $300 maybe depending on the muffler, and and the whole ECU ordeal you are already well past $1,000 after the $800-$950 price of the motor.

In my opinion the DE-T is all around a better choice for a guy who wants to be fast and spend the least, but it just depends on how "FAST" you want the car and what you consider fast. A properly tuned VE with just an intake/header/exhaust is nothing to sneeze about regarding the average cars on the road

^ turbo properly set up for a daily driver, sure thing.. but I don't like turbo for a track rat (just seen too many issues with turbo cars in a track setting) ...not sure i like VE for a track rat either... plain old DE w/cams is 'good enough' for us anyway

Yes that's true, there are a lot of extra variables w/ turbo

I sure do love my red 1993 NX 2000 5-speed with T-tops and SR20VE swap with Jordan's silver B14 SE-R wheels. It's a nice daily
