Thread: T-top Delete - Has anyone done it?

As I do not get a chance to enjoy my T-Tops anymore as well as do a lot of HPDE the 30lbs+ up top does not help in the corners!

Has anyone done a T-top delete by taking removing t-tops and riveting aluminum sheet in its place? I am thinking of doing that along with some structural reinforcement to eliminate chassis flex.

Let ideas flow...

Has anyone done a conversion from t-top to hardtop? I want to get an idea of what the options are (and if you can do it without taking out the front windshield glass).

Probably not hard for a good body guy to do.
Cut and weld.Get all the interior trim and window seals,etc from the same hardtop donor that you get the roof from.
I had a Z32 hardtop that I parted out once,and a guy came over and bought the roof and all the stuff to convert his ttop z.
We just used a dewalt sawzall and cut it off.

I bet the hardtop roof is still lighter than the ttop roof without the tops in.

I will probably be buying back the NX I had for 2 months back in 2007, are there still options for a lighter weight glass?

It is. All the damn structural enhancements over the hard top make it heavier as well...

the NX was meant to have t-tops. Without them just buy a sentra.
