New shoes
Hey guys, this summer I'm hoping to get a nice set of wheels for my NX sometime this summer. And if I can't find any used with tires for a decent price I may just break down and buy a nice new set.
I'm wanting some opinions from other egg owners. I really don't want 17's. They are way too big for the country roads I rock. I'm thinking no larger than 16's, and 15's would be fine as well. I just want to know what you guys think is the ideal size for the NX, maybe post a few pics if ya want (I've been checking out the Office NX Pic thread to get some ideas, but just in case). I really want a tire with a small/stiff enough sidewall that handling will be greatly improved over stock wheels/tires. But I want something that has enough rubber on the sides still to have a little give for the back roads I'm on. I know 15's would be ideal for this (and cheaper), but I really like the filling look of 16's. Can you get a pretty nice handling 15" tire that has little tire role? The last set of wheels I had were 17's and they were STIFF. On my car with stock-replacement shocks and stock springs it handled pretty darned well!
Anyways, give me some opinions on your history with diff wheel/tire combos and try to give me some ideas. I want a wider tire to help keep the car planted under boost.
If I buy any wheels these are what I would like to get right now. How do you think that blue would look on a Sapphire Blue NX? Riding on KYB GR2s and Eibach Pro springs (~1.2" drop).
BTW - There is a 4x100 bolt pattern option. I realize the picture is a 5 lug...
