I worked on it a little bit so far today. I should have time to finish it tonight and get it bolted in place so i'll have more pictures later.

I want to be able to drive it in april so I have to keep moving on it. I'm hoping to have everything modified in the front and start up the engine by March 8th so i'm falling a bit behind at the moment.

After discussing things with my brother we came up with a different idea for the front engine mount bracket. The one I was making would more then likely cause issues later on down the road.

It will basically be a solid mount. The insert that bolts to the engine was removed from a junk strut laying around. None of the pieces are welded together yet.




The flat chunk of steel will be recessed into the tubing and my holes will be drilled in it to mount it were the dog bone originally was.

Here is the front mount bracket mounted and tacked together.






I have to do the rear mount on the fire wall yet then I can go on to finishing the sub frame. I'm going to try and get the front finished and the engine started this week or early next week.

I brought my bracket to someone I know to have them weld it up to make sure the weld has enough penetration. We also swapped the bushing on the end to one from a link bar which is used on air ride or lifted vehicles. The bushing is also replaceable now if needed compared to the other one.




I also know some people that work at a powder coating facility so i'm going to try and sneak this part as well as some other brackets on the line.
